Our buckle tais are made with 100% cotton twill or canvas straps. We use 1 inch nu-foam for padding in the shoulders and in the waist-band.The shoulder straps are approximately 18 inches long, with 21 inch long webbing straps. We use one inch one-way adjustable side-clipping buckles and one inch black nylon webbing for shoulder straps, so that most moms can choose to cross straps behind them in afront carry, if desired. The waist band is about 4 inches wide and curved for a more supportive fit. The cloth portion of the waist band is about 27 inches long attached to about 34 inches of 2 inch black nylon webbing (equaling a waistband that is about 61 inches long) that close with a 2 inch black two-sided adjustable buckle. The body of the buckle tie is sewn into the waist band with triple zig zag stitching for strength, and is about 19 inches high and 19 inches wide at its widest point and 14 inches wide in the middle where it is contoured for a more comfortable ride for baby. The body piece is also darted to create a seat for baby. The body piece is made of a decorator or fashion fabric, a coordinating fabric that matches the straps, and another heavy weight fabric on the inside for structure. Buckle tais cannot be made reversible.
Our mei tais are made with 100% cotton twill straps or corduroy straps. We use 1 inch nu-foam for padding in the shoulders. Top straps are about 70 inches in length, while bottom straps are about 30 inches in length. Unless reversible, the inside of the body piece is matching twill or corduroy, and typically the decorative part of the body piece is 100% cotton or decorator-weight fabric. The body is contoured for baby's legs.
Our half buckle tais have the top straps of a mei tai (about 70 inches in length), and the padded waistband, buckle and body of a buckle tai (about 61 inches total length). Half buckle tais cannot be made reversible.
Our onbuhimos are made with 100% cotton twill straps or corduroy straps. We use 1 inch nu-foam for padding in the shoulders. Top straps are about 70 inches in length, and the rings are 2.5 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick. They are aluminum and silver, from www.slingrings.com . Unless reversible, the inside of the body piece is matching twill or canvas, and typically the decorative part of the body piece is 100% cotton or decorator-weight fabric. The body is contoured for baby's legs.
Sleep hoods are sewn to the top of the body piece, and they are a rectangle of material with two straps that thread into "belt-loops" on the top straps. The sleep hood dimensions are 10 inches by 11.5 inches, and the length of the straps are 14.5 inches.
Pockets are approximately 8 inches by 12 inches, and are centered on the front of the mei tai. They are shaped like the pockets that are found on hoodie sweatshirts with openings on the sides.

Measurements are taken *before* sewing, so please allow some variance for seam allowances. Also these are made by our own hands, not in a factory, so there will be some possible imperfections (such as crooked stitching), but these do not affect the safety of our carriers.
